Remember the spaceship made in collaboration between Porsche and Lucasfilm for Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker? Well it's been officially unveiled ahead of its debut in the film. The new spaceship, named the Tri-Wing S91x Pegasus Starfighter, was the result of the collaborative effort between the two companies at their design studios in Weissach and San Francisco. It will be showcased as a 1500mm long model at the premiere event of Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker on December 20.
At a glance, the spaceship may not seem to have anything related to a Porsche, but a closer look reveals some subtle design cues from Porsche. Some of them include the headlight design from the Taycan as well as the four point DRLs of modern Porsches.
If you look closer at the rear, the Starfighter features the integrated third brake light from the current-gen 911 and the trademark light bar. Aside from that, the Starfighter sports a Star Wars style spaceship design with long gun barrels at the front and futuristic turbines. Inside, the Starfighter features a driver-focused cockpit design with the instruments aligned towards the driver.
Other than the spaceship’s physical debut, Porsche will also be showcasing the Taycan EV at the movie’s premiere event. Deliveries of the EV in the US are expected to commence later this month, with European customers likely to get their hands on the Taycan from early 2020.
